Juanda International Airport SUBWARR
Juanda International Airport (SUB) is the main airport for Surabaya and East Java, located in Sidoarjo rather than in the city core. Treat it as a strong Indonesian domestic and regional gateway, not a global alliance super-hub: Garuda Indonesia is the SkyTeam carrier presence, while Batik Air, Citilink, Lion Air and Super Air Jet provide much of the domestic connectivity. International flying is mostly regional Asia and pilgrimage/seasonal traffic rather than long-haul breadth. Terminal 1 is the domestic terminal; Terminal 2 is the international terminal. The terminals sit on opposite sides of the runway, so inter-terminal connections are landside by shuttle/vehicle and require time for immigration, baggage, security and check-in if your tickets are separate. For central Surabaya, a taxi or app-based car via the Waru-Juanda toll road is usually the simplest option, roughly 30-60 minutes depending on traffic. Public buses are more useful for Purabaya and onward bus connections than for a fast city-centre arrival. Lounges exist in both terminals, but the scene is contract-lounge and airline-lounge focused rather than flagship-heavy; verify Priority Pass or DragonPass access in the app for your exact terminal and date.
