Santiago Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport (SCL) is Chile’s main air gateway and one of LATAM’s key South American hubs, with a large domestic and regional presence from Sky Airline and JetSmart as well. For the city, the fastest frequent-flyer move is usually an official taxi, transfer or app-based ride to central Santiago via the airport expressway, with a rough drive of about 25-45 minutes depending on traffic. Buses to Pajaritos or Los Heroes plus Metro are reliable for light bags and budget-conscious travelers, but less seamless after a long flight.
