San Diego International Airport SANKSAN

San Diego International (SAN) is the main airport for San Diego and unusually close to downtown, so it is often easier for origin/destination travelers than for complex connections. It is not a mega-hub like LAX or SFO; Alaska Airlines treats San Diego as a hub/focus operation, Southwest has a major presence, and most traffic is domestic or near-international, with selected long-haul links to Europe and Asia. The airport has one runway and two passenger terminals, so walks are manageable, but terminal changes can mean using the landside inter-terminal shuttle and clearing security again. For downtown, MTS Route 992 is the straightforward public-transit choice; rideshare/taxi is usually fastest when traffic is light.
