Gregorio Luperon International Airport POPMDPP
Gregorio Luperon International Airport (POP), also called Puerto Plata Airport, is the main international gateway for the Dominican Republic’s north coast around Puerto Plata, Sosua and Cabarete. It is not a major connecting hub and is not a oneworld, SkyTeam or Star Alliance hub; traffic is mostly point-to-point leisure and visiting-friends-and-relatives flying, with service from airlines such as American, JetBlue, Delta, United, Air Transat, WestJet, Sunwing, Condor and LOT depending on season. The airport is compact, with one passenger terminal, so it is easier to navigate than Punta Cana or Santo Domingo, but it is not built around airside transfers. For most travelers, the simplest city transfer is the authorized airport taxi from the main first-level entrance; expect roughly 15–25 minutes to central Puerto Plata in normal traffic, shorter to Sosua and longer toward Cabarete.
