McCarran International Airport LASKLAS

LAS is still widely called McCarran by travelers, but its official name has been Harry Reid International Airport since 2021. It is Las Vegas’s main commercial airport and is built around high-volume leisure and convention traffic rather than a classic global-alliance hub. Southwest has a large operation here, and Allegiant, Frontier and JSX use LAS as an operating base; the airport also handles full-service U.S. carriers and international flights to Canada, Mexico, Europe and Asia. For frequent flyers, the key operating fact is that LAS has two public terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, plus the D-gates satellite served by airside trams. It is close to the Strip and downtown, so a long layover can be genuinely usable, but terminal changes, bag recheck and security can consume time quickly.
