Jinnah International Airport (KHI) is Karachi’s airport and one of Pakistan’s key international gateways. It is important for domestic trunk routes and Gulf/South Asia connections, with Pakistan International Airlines present as a major home carrier and Pakistani airlines such as airblue, Fly Jinnah and SereneAir using Karachi heavily. It is not an alliance mega-hub in the Gulf sense: most long-haul and alliance connectivity is via foreign carriers and their hubs, while KHI’s strength is Pakistan domestic, regional and Middle East traffic. The passenger layout is relatively straightforward because normal flights use the Jinnah Terminal, split between international and domestic concourses.
