Jaipur International Airport (JAI) is Rajasthan’s main airport and a useful regional gateway, not a major global alliance hub. Expect strong domestic coverage from Indian carriers such as IndiGo, Air India and Air India Express, with international service mainly to nearby Gulf and Southeast Asian points on airlines including Air Arabia, SalamAir, Etihad and Thai AirAsia. The layout is simple but connections are not hub-style: Terminal 1 is the international terminal and Terminal 2 is the domestic terminal, so domestic-international transfers can involve exiting, moving landside, immigration/customs where applicable, re-checking bags if they are not through-tagged, and clearing security again. For the city, app-based cabs or metered/prepaid taxis are usually the easiest choice; the airport is in Sanganer, roughly 10-12 km south of central Jaipur, so allow about 25-45 minutes by road depending on traffic. For longer layovers, only leave the airport if you have the right India entry documents and enough buffer; the old city sights are possible on a long daytime stop, but short connections are better spent airside or in the lounge/rest areas.
