William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) is Houston’s closer-in, Southwest-dominated airport rather than a global alliance hub. It is not a Star Alliance, oneworld or SkyTeam hub; American, Delta, Frontier, Allegiant and Sun Country have a smaller presence, while Southwest uses HOU as a major operating base with domestic service plus a limited international network focused on Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. For frequent flyers, the practical appeal is simplicity: one terminal, short walks, and easier access to central Houston than IAH.
