Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) is Grenada’s main international gateway at Point Salines, about 7 km by road from St. George’s and close to the Grand Anse hotel strip. It is not a major connecting hub and is not a hub for any global airline alliance. Its role is mainly origin-and-destination travel, with a mix of long-haul and regional services: the airport authority lists carriers such as American, JetBlue, Delta, Air Canada, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Caribbean Airlines, SVG Air and LIAT. Frequent flyers should think of GND as a compact island airport: simple to navigate, but with limited transit infrastructure, no meaningful terminal-to-terminal transfer problem, and fewer backup options if separate-ticket connections misconnect. Taxis or pre-arranged hotel transfers are the practical default into St. George’s or Grand Anse; allow roughly 15-25 minutes to St. George’s depending on traffic and stop location.
