Guadalajara International Airport (Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla Int'l) GDLMMGL

Guadalajara International Airport (Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, GDL) is the main air gateway for Guadalajara and western Mexico. It is especially important for Mexico-U.S. traffic: Volaris uses GDL as its largest hub and U.S. gateway, Viva has a significant base here, and Aeroméxico treats it as a focus city/secondary hub rather than a full alliance mega-hub. The route mix is heavily domestic and North America-focused, with selected Latin America and long-haul links such as Madrid. For frequent flyers, GDL is easier to understand than Mexico City or Cancún because passenger operations are concentrated in one main terminal with domestic and international areas, but international arrivals still mean immigration, customs and usually another security check before onward travel.
