Shymkent International Airport CITUAII

Shymkent International Airport (CIT) is the main airport for Shymkent in southern Kazakhstan and a core base for SCAT Airlines. It is not a major global alliance hub; think of it as a regional Kazakh and Central Asian gateway with a mix of domestic services and selected international routes. The airport has been in transition since the opening of a new terminal in late 2024, so terminal assignment, check-in location and transfer handling should be verified with the airline close to travel. For city access, taxi or ride-hailing is usually the most practical choice because the airport is about 12 km from the centre; in normal traffic, plan roughly 20-30 minutes.
