George Best Belfast City Airport BHDEGAC

George Best Belfast City Airport (BHD) is Belfast’s close-in, frequent-flyer-friendly city airport rather than a major long-haul hub. Its network is mainly UK regional and London flying, plus selected European and seasonal leisure routes; onward global connectivity is most practical via London and Amsterdam. Current scheduled operators include Aer Lingus Regional, British Airways, easyJet, KLM and Loganair, with some charter partners. It is not a global alliance hub: British Airways brings oneworld access, KLM brings SkyTeam connectivity via Amsterdam, while the rest is mostly point-to-point or regional feed. The airport is compact, with one passenger terminal, so there are no inter-terminal transfers to plan for. The quickest public route into central Belfast is Airport Express 600 from outside the terminal to Belfast Grand Central Station, taking about 10 minutes at typical times; taxis to the City Hall area are also around 10 minutes. For layovers, the city is the main asset: short stops are best kept airside, but longer gaps can realistically include Titanic Belfast, the Cathedral Quarter or City Hall if you allow time to re-clear security. Lounge options are simple: Aspire Lounge near Gate 4 is the main independent lounge; there is no flagship airline lounge landscape like a major hub.
