L.F. Wade International Airport BDATXKF
L.F. Wade International Airport (BDA) is Bermuda’s sole international airport, on St. David’s Island in the east end. It is best understood as an origin-and-destination island gateway rather than a major connecting hub. BermudAir is based here, while Air Canada, American, British Airways, Delta, JetBlue, United, WestJet and others operate international services to North America, the UK and the Azores. There is no global-alliance hub operation at BDA. The passenger experience is compact: one modern terminal, opened in December 2020, with separate post-security flows for US departures and other international departures. US-bound passengers clear US Customs and Border Protection before departure, so they arrive in the US like domestic passengers. For Hamilton, taxis are the most practical choice, with the airport’s own guidance putting central-island journeys at roughly 20–40 minutes. BDA has useful amenities for a small airport, including free Wi-Fi, charging points and two Primeclass lounges, but it is not designed as a long airside transit airport.
