Cerro Moreno International Airport ANFSCFA
Cerro Moreno International Airport, now commonly branded as Andrés Sabella Gálvez International Airport (ANF), is Antofagasta’s compact single-terminal airport and the main air gateway for Chile’s northern mining region and coast. It is not a major connecting hub and is not a global-alliance hub; traffic is mainly point-to-point domestic flying by LATAM, Sky Airline and JetSMART, with limited regional international service. For frequent flyers, the airport is straightforward: one passenger terminal, short walking distances, and a practical rather than premium lounge scene. The airport sits north of Antofagasta, so taxis, pre-booked transfers or car hire are the simplest way into the centre, typically around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Connections are easiest when booked on one ticket; for self-connects, build in enough time for baggage reclaim, check-in/security, and immigration/customs on international legs. Long layovers are better spent in Antofagasta or at nearby La Portada than inside the terminal.
