China Northwest Airlines (WH)

China Northwest Airlines (WH) was a China-based carrier headquartered in Xi'an, Shaanxi, with hubs listed at Xi'an, Nanjing, Lanzhou and Zhuhai. It was mainly a scheduled passenger airline serving domestic Chinese routes, with some international service to Japan, and it merged into China Eastern Airlines in 2002. For travelers, WH is best treated as a historical airline code rather than an active booking or mileage-credit option; check the operating carrier and ticketing airline on any legacy references or archived itineraries. I did not find reliable evidence that China Northwest ran an independent alliance membership or frequent-flyer program before the merger.
