Avianca Brazil
Avianca Brazil (IATA O6), legally OceanAir Linhas Aéreas, was a Brazil-based airline headquartered in São Paulo, with reported hubs at Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont and São Paulo Congonhas. It was a scheduled passenger carrier with Brazilian domestic flying and some former international routes, and its concession also covered regular passenger and cargo air transport. The carrier formerly participated in Star Alliance and ran Programa Amigo, but Brazil’s civil aviation regulator suspended OceanAir/Avianca Brazil’s operating concession in 2019. For travelers, the practical point is that O6 should be treated as a defunct carrier: do not assume bookable flights, Star Alliance credit, or current frequent-flyer earning unless a current operating airline and program explicitly confirm it.
