Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL, IATA J2) is Azerbaijan’s national air carrier, headquartered and based in Baku at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. AZAL does not publish membership in a major global airline alliance; instead, it lists codeshare, interline and rail partners. Its own frequent-flyer program is AZAL Miles. For travelers, the airline is best understood as a scheduled passenger network carrier centered on Baku, with regional links around the Caucasus, Turkey and nearby markets, selected longer routes into Europe and Asia, and a separate AZAL Cargo service.
