A stone's throw from Montrouge town hall, this place whose terrace is a hit in fine weather, is a breath of fresh air on the local restaurant scene. At the helm, Cécile Farnier and Hélia Maouch, both trained at the Ferrandi hospitality school, have devised a short – and constantly evolving – menu: shredded fish with potato espuma, fish with a tangy sauce vierge, refreshing seasonal desserts. Quality ingredients, on-point cuissons, service with a smile… It's no surprise it already has a following of regulars.

In a neighbourhood swarming with Chinese eateries, this establishment stands out from the crowd by courtesy of a bistronomic purebred Gallic lineup and minimalist Scandinavian-style loft interior. The high-flying culinary score boasts quality ingredients and bang-on cooking and seasoning: ravioles of Ossau-Iraty cheese, smoked pimiento sauce, dusting of chorizo, poached rhubarb and roquette oil, or loin of croaker with asparagus, miso and capers in a gutsy red wine sauce…

In a quiet street in the Asian quarter, Mr and Mrs Té keep a watchful eye over their little Vietnamese canteen, which has its fair share of regulars. In a boisterous atmosphere, diners tuck into flavoursome home-style cooking at tightly packed tables: crispy chicken with fresh ginger, bò bún; the phở soup and Vietnamese dumplings (bánh cuốn) deserve a special mention. Brazilian-born chef Alessandra Montagne is delighted to be in her new restaurant, which has an inviting contemporary interior featuring a preponderance of concrete and wood as well as floor-to-ceiling windows. Her recipe for success (and pleasure) comprises meticulous plating, seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, a whirlwind of flavours and a patchwork of influences (from Brazil to Asia). The title says it all – a duo of chefs who trained under Thierry Marx and innovative fusion cuisine in which South American and Asian influences rub shoulders with pedigree French ingredients. The aubergines are underscored by miso sauce; pollock is flanked by creamy green peas, risotto of quinoa and Thai herbs sprinkled with grilled buckwheat for a roasted flavour; beef dumpling and a teriyaki sauce: everything is intelligently and patiently combined and assembled by our gourmet duo. This warm, colourful bistro, fully in tune with its era, is good news for the town centre of Saint-Maurice!

Tomy Gousset (Tomy & Co, near Les Invalides) runs this restaurant that sets out to take diners on a culinary journey: the food tours the entire Mediterranean basin from Greece to Portugal via Italy and Lebanon (but also Latin America). Examples of the Colombian born chef’s handiwork include an aguachile of seabream and shrimp, pink grapefruit, cucumber and coriander. The octopus-themed artwork on the walls is by street artist Kraken. Soul-warming recipes, spot-on flavours, fantastically fresh ingredients – a felicitous feast awaits you!
