Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH) is Zhejiang’s main air gateway and a significant East China airport, but it is more domestic-heavy than Shanghai’s airports. It is an important Hangzhou base for Air China, XiamenAir and Loong Air, with useful alliance coverage through Air China/Star Alliance and XiamenAir/SkyTeam; Loong Air is not in a global alliance. International and regional flying is strongest to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia, with a smaller set of long-haul or Middle East links. The airport has four terminals plus a large Ground Transportation Center, so terminal assignment matters for frequent flyers and tight connections.
