Penang International Airport PENWMKP
Penang International Airport (PEN) is the main air gateway for northwestern Malaysia, about 16 km south of central George Town in Bayan Lepas. It is not a global mega-hub or a major alliance fortress; think of it as a busy regional airport with strong links to Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and ASEAN cities, plus selected services to North Asia, mainland China and the Middle East. Firefly uses Penang as a hub, and AirAsia treats it as one of its Malaysian operating bases. Oneworld, Star Alliance and other full-service carriers appear through individual routes, but there is no large alliance hub operation comparable with Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.
