Frankfurt Airport (FRA) is one of Europe’s heavyweight transfer hubs: a Lufthansa Group and Star Alliance stronghold, with Condor also important at Frankfurt and a broad long-haul mix across oneworld, SkyTeam, Gulf and Asian carriers. As of June 2026, the practical layout is Terminal 1 plus the new Terminal 3; Terminal 2 traffic has moved to T3 while T2 is closed for renovation. T1 is the Lufthansa/Star Alliance heart of the airport, with A/Z especially relevant for Schengen/non-Schengen Lufthansa connections. T3 handles the former T2 airline mix, including many oneworld and SkyTeam carriers plus major non-aligned long-haul airlines. For the city, the S-Bahn from the regional station under T1 is usually the easiest move; from T3, add the SkyLine connection to the rail stations.

Bus / coach

Bus stops are in front of Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 arrivals; bus lines 61 and 62 stop at both terminals, with regional, long-distance, Lufthansa Express Bus and hotel shuttle options.

Taxi

Taxis are available around the clock at all three terminals and at the long-distance train station; Frankfurt journey takes about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic.

Train / metro

Regional Station under Terminal 1 serves S-Bahn S8/S9 and regional trains; Long-Distance Station serves ICE/IC and other long-distance rail.
