Ristorante Ambiente Italiano, meanwhile, serves more sophisticated dishes that draw on Italian influences. The terrace with its stunning views of the Main River is a summer highlight! The open kitchen allows you to watch chef Julio Pizarro Villanueva at work as he creates inventive dishes shaped both by his Peruvian heritage and his many years of international culinary experience. This fascinating combination of traditional Peruvian cuisine and Japanese influences is presented in the form of a set menu centred on fish and seafood. The cuisine combines classic, Mediterranean and Austrian influences, including appetising dishes such as lobster with truffle sauce, beef fillet Rossini; the "Austrian classics" section on the menu features the likes of "Bertl's Kalbsfleischpflanzerl mit Kartoffel-Rahmgurkensalat" (veal patties with potato salad in a creamy cucumber sauce). To start with, the location on a 45ha estate is terrific. The cosy space with a tiled stove that draws the eye exudes rustic charm and a certain chic. Specialities include various dishes featuring meat from bison they have reared on their own farm. Note: On Mondays only bison burgers, or veggie burgers, are served. Tip: the marvellous terrace with a view of the countryside! There is also the ‘WILD X BERG’ restaurant, where you can enjoy a three or four-course menu on Saturdays from 6 p.m. The small Lammershof hotel, the main building of which dates from 1709, has cosy guestrooms.

This family business a stone's throw from the market square is run with great dedication, and attracts many regulars. In summer, there is a lovely terrace out front. The interior makes for a cosy setting in which to savour delicious food such as locally hunted game. The restaurant endeavours to source ingredients locally and knows its suppliers personally.

Inside, mouldings are combined with modern elements to create a chic interior. The cuisine strikes a successful balance of diverse styles, with a menu that includes Flammkuchen and cake in the afternoon, as well as Tristan Brandt's specials such as truffle fries or caviar, alongside such classics as Wiener schnitzel with warm potato salad or char and beef fillet.
