Where to Base
Given Navata's small size, accommodation options within the municipality itself are limited. Frequent flyers may find better hotel infrastructure and dining variety in nearby larger towns such as Figueres or Prats de Molló. Staying in these adjacent areas provides easier access to amenities while keeping Navata within a short driving distance for day trips.
Getting Around
Navata does not have its own airport. The nearest major aviation hubs are Girona-Costa Brava Airport (GRO) and Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN). From either airport, renting a car is highly recommended. This allows for flexible exploration of the Alt Empordà region's scenic rural roads, vineyards, and nearby coastal areas, which are best accessed by private vehicle.
Best Season
Spring and autumn offer the most pleasant weather for visiting Navata, making it ideal for walking tours and exploring historical sites in the surrounding countryside. Summer can be hot but is perfect for combining a rural stay with visits to the nearby Costa Brava beaches. Winter provides a quiet, serene atmosphere for travelers seeking solitude and a break from the typical tourist rush.
