Xi'an Xianyang International Airport XIYZLXY

Xi’an Xianyang International Airport (XIY) is the main air gateway for Xi’an, Xianyang and the wider Guanzhong region, and the busiest/most important hub in Northwest China rather than a Beijing/Shanghai-scale global mega-hub. It has a strong domestic network with selected regional and international links. China Eastern is the most important alliance carrier here and uses Xi’an as a Northwest China base; it is a SkyTeam member. Hainan Airlines, Tianjin Airlines, Air Changan/other HNA-linked carriers and Loong Air also have meaningful base or focus operations, while China Southern remains important but no longer belongs to a global alliance. Since Terminal 5 opened in 2025, XIY is split between older west-side terminals and the new east-side T5, so frequent flyers should check the terminal before every trip, especially for China Eastern, international, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan flights.
