Gimhae International Airport PUSRKPK

Gimhae International Airport (PUS) is Busan’s main air gateway and the practical airport for the Busan-Gyeongnam region. It is not a global alliance mega-hub; think of it as a busy regional airport with strong Japan, Taiwan, China, Southeast Asia, Jeju and Seoul links. Air Busan is the clearest home-base carrier here, with substantial service also from Korean Air, Jeju Air and Jin Air. Alliance value is flight-specific rather than airport-wide: Korean Air gives SkyTeam presence, while many other services are LCC or point-to-point. The airport is easy to understand: one Domestic Terminal and one International Terminal, linked by an airport shuttle and nearby light-rail access. For the city, the Busan-Gimhae Light Rail Transit to Sasang, then Busan Metro Line 2 toward Seomyeon, is usually the most predictable route; allow roughly 35-45 minutes to Seomyeon and longer for Busan Station or Haeundae. Connections are manageable but not seamless like a purpose-built hub: international-domestic or domestic-international transfers generally mean changing terminals and clearing the relevant formalities again, so avoid tight self-connects. Lounges are concentrated in the International Terminal, with Air Busan Lounge, Sky Hub/N Sky Hub and Korean Air Lounge the main names; Priority Pass lists several options, while DragonPass eligibility should be checked in-app before travel.
