You enter this fine dining restaurant either through the side entrance or via the lobby of the luxurious Parkhotel Egerner Höfe, just beyond the elegant bar and decorative glassed-in wine cabinets. Cornelia Fischer, who heads up the kitchen at the fine dining restaurant of the splendid Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt, is by no means a rookie when it comes to running a kitchen. Most recently head chef at Zur Schwane in Volkach, she is now showcasing her contemporary take on classic cuisine here at Überfahrt. Excellent ingredients go into the two four-course set menus, one of which is vegetarian. The fresh, tenderly cooked Breton langoustine with delicious braised fennel and a classic shellfish and orange sauce is one outstanding example. This lakeside inn overlooking Tegernsee is picture perfect; in summer, the terrace is nothing short of sensational! The interior is especially inviting, with cosy dining spaces done out in warm wood. The delicious food is inspired by the seasons and often showcases locally sourced ingredients. The menu features regional classics such as roast pork or duck as a speciality, alongside internationally influenced dishes. The charming front-of-house team work well together. This is also a wonderful venue for special occasions. Tip: For overnight stays, there is a gorgeous suite on the top floor.

A truly delightful establishment with a charmingly rustic inn atmosphere – it's genuinely cosy here. The menu includes freshly prepared seasonal Bavarian cuisine such as braised shoulder of lamb with root vegetables, or beef tenderloin on a bed of fried mushrooms and potatoes, as well as parmesan risotto with king prawns. More limited options at lunchtime.

This restaurant, an offshoot of Überfahrt, enjoys an idyllic lakeside location. The modern decor has a touch of rustic maritime flair while the service is friendly and accomplished. International and seasonal dishes. You will also have the opportunity to rent a deckchair on the beach! N.B. the restaurant is not accessible by car – getting there involves a 300m walk.

A good alternative to the fine dining restaurant of the Park-Hotel Egerner Höfe. The choice is yours: dine in the cosy Bavarian-style dining rooms dubbed "Alois" and "Anton" or in the more upmarket Kaminrestaurant. Just as charming is the terrace, which is sheltered from the wind and has a view of the pastures and mountains. Either way, you can enjoy cordial service and regional and seasonal dishes in a pleasantly laid-back atmosphere.
