An authentic little corner of France, tucked away in a quiet yet central location near the Stadtpark. The bistro atmosphere is charming, the service provided by the owner is cordial and professional, and the modern French cuisine is delicious. The dishes revolve around the seasons and are made with select ingredients. The pair serve a five-course tasting menu and an à la carte selection; at lunchtime there is the more affordable "Menu du Midi" – a three-course set menu. The wine list takes you through the regions of France.

As a result of this place being both a wine bar and a restaurant, it has a remarkable wine list and around 120 wines by the glass to accompany the ambitious modern cuisine. From a lovely selection of dishes, diners choose four to nine courses to make up their meal. Relaxed, attentive and knowledgeable service is provided. On balmy summer evenings, tables on the terrace are highly sought-after. The name is a nod to Heunisch, a foundational progenitor grape (the parent of most grape varieties known and drunk today), and Erben, the "heirs", its descendants, which you'll find here on the wine list
