Restaurant Smink
Creative, Modern French · ★ Michelin

Built in 1625, the national monument Huize Lindenoord has kept its historical character intact. Inside, the gorgeous ornate ceilings adorned with chandeliers and graceful curves harmonise beautifully with the modern upscale decor of this restaurant. The surrounding parkland and garden lend this sumptuous setting an added air of distinction. Jan Smink, a proud farmer's son and true Frisian at heart, proves himself to be a charismatic chef who dares to push boundaries. His culinary style is thoughtful, bold and exciting. Backed by great technical prowess, he artfully dances with textures, temper

Drive onto the sprawling estate, follow the driveway through the rolling countryside and admire the stately mansion that houses Landgoed Lauswolt hotel. What a first impression! Inside, the high ceilings, marble fireplace, large chandelier and period features are enchanting. The terrace affords fantastic views over the golf greens. Everything is perfect down to the last detail, and that goes for the food, too. Each ingredient receives meticulous attention, with sauces, creams and marinades elevating every dish. French influences meet local produce, often accompanied by surprising trimmings. Se

De Lindenhof
Creative, Classic French · ★★ Michelin

De Lindenhof offers a unique experience that starts with the location: a splendid farmhouse with a thatched roof that exudes character and elegance. The English garden is magnificent – the scene could not be more idyllic! Out back is the chef's little sailing boat, in which he likes to cruise the canals (sometimes taking guests with him!). There are also luxurious guestrooms for a relaxing stay. But the main draws are the enthusiastic service provided by hostess Marjan and the ingredient-led cuisine of Martin Kruithof, a traditional chef who has moved with the times. The warm, contemporary interior of this former school (coat hooks still in place) exudes a lively brasserie atmosphere. Chef Raymond crafts à la carte dishes and a tasting menu, presenting classic flavours with modern precision. Think succulent veal cheeks served with crispy pommes dauphine, onion compote and Belgian endive braised in orange. Two rich sauces – one mustard-based, the other a Spanish wine reduction – complete the dish. Confident cooking, in generous portions that leave a lasting impression.

Located on the beautiful verdant Lauswolt estate, this atmospheric bistro is wonderfully relaxed. There is a fantastic set menu with a choice of generous options for each course and no unnecessary frills. An example would be a slice of intensely flavoursome pâté with dried fruit followed by al dente local asparagus, smoked salmon, a poached egg and hollandaise sauce. Top off your meal with a warm clafoutis with blueberries and verbena ice cream, and you will understand why Bistro Nijeholt is the epitome of a Bib Gourmand restaurant.

One of this neighbourhood restaurant's main assets is its convivial atmosphere. The commitment to quality is palpable on every plate that is brought to your table. Martijn Stroosma serves up beautifully presented dishes that showcase his creativity. This astute chef never goes over the top. For instance, he will mellow the combination of langoustine tail tempura and confit bacon with touches of mango and celeriac. He always strikes the right balance, including in the mouth-watering à la carte and lunch options.
