This small restaurant may be a little off the beaten track, but it's well worth coming here for the regional cuisine. Quality ingredients are skilfully prepared to impart plenty of flavour. The restaurant rears its own cattle, hence the focus on beef – delicious dishes include beef tongue with celeriac purée and horseradish foam, or beef ribs with coleslaw and bread. The interior has a charmingly rustic quality; in summer, dine out on the terrace, which is surrounded by greenery. Should you wish to soak up this rural idyll a little longer, there is also a campsite.

The Schuster family's country inn is thoroughly charming! This is primarily down to the warm hospitality extended by the lady of the house, and the tasteful interior design. And then there are the chef-patron's seasonally influenced classic dishes such as pike-perch sausage accompanied by creamed sauerkraut with dates, or venison with nuts, black walnut sauce, cranberries and Savoy cabbage. Individual courses from each of the two set menus ("Tradition" and "Genusswerk") can be ordered à la carte. Decent wine selection with good options available by the glass.

In a pleasingly relaxed setting, diners are treated to dishes brimming with flavour and culinary flair. Alongside time-honoured classics such as Wiener schnitzel of veal with fried potatoes and cranberries or Zwiebelrostbraten (braised beef with onions and gravy) with cheese spaetzle and a rosemary and thyme jus, the kitchen also turns out more contemporary dishes: "Black salsify soup, beetroot, cream cheese, parsley" or "Zander, cucumber, mustard, dill".
