With its suggestion of elegance, the name – meaning "emperor's hall" – sets the tone. Once a renowned ballroom, Kaisersaal boasts high ceilings, stuccowork, fine hardwood floors and pleasant design details. The kitchen in a glass cube in the entrance area is eye-catching; it is also where the team led by chef Kevin Leitner, who previously earned a MICHELIN star for s'Äpfle, in Bodman, cooks up classic and Mediterranean-based dishes, which are given a creative and modern twist. In this well-kept restaurant run by the Leykauf family, you can expect a relaxed atmosphere and flavoursome, fresh cuisine prepared by the chef-patron, as well as friendly and attentive service overseen by the lady of the house – this is hospitality as it should be! The wine list predominantly features local produce. There are also reasonably priced guestrooms, varying in style from simple to modern.

Cuisine, art and accommodation are combined in this long-running family business. Three sisters run both the hotel – with some classic, some stylishly modern guestrooms – and the restaurant, which offers really good seasonally influenced cuisine. There are three cosy dining areas inside; outside, there are tables on the terrace in the shade of the plane trees, which affords views of the orchards! There is art displayed everywhere in the house.

Whether you are seated in the pleasantly bright interior or on the delightful terrace in summer, you can look forward to friendly and charming service as well as international and regional cuisine made from excellent produce. There are various set menus (including a vegetarian one) to choose from, plus a selection of dishes à la carte. The restaurant is housed in the tasteful Kleber Post hotel.

This former farmhouse, which is over 350 years old, has been turned into the lovely Johanniter-Kreuz Romantik Hotel, complete with a tasteful, rustic-style restaurant in what was once the stable. Old beams and a central fireplace lend the space a cosy atmosphere. The food is rooted in classical culinary tradition, with regional influences and close ties to the seasons. Vegetarians are also catered for, and there is a decent wine selection.

Following Marco Akuzun's departure, Daniele di Fabio is the new head chef. As well as a good à la carte selection, a five-course set menu is served in the evening (vegetarian version available on request) and there is an attractive "business lunch" formula comprising two or three courses. The mouthwatering options include ricotta gnocchi with summer truffle and Parmesan, or guinea fowl saltimbocca with olive marinara sauce and basil purée. Furthermore, a creative tasting menu can be ordered in the evening. The upscale interior is both stylish and cosy, featuring warm wood and a minimalist desi
