Creative, Seasonal Cuisine · ★ Michelin
€€€€
The historical hamlet of Kohlhof, nestled in an idyllic location above Heidelberg, among meadows and fruit trees, is something of a gourmet island in the forest. Exuding rural allure, the cobbled courtyard is your first port of call: sip on an aperitif, before moving on to the charming, lovingly decorated dining room, which has a pleasantly intimate atmosphere. Zum Rössl
Country cooking, Traditional Cuisine
€€
This long-standing family-run establishment is housed in a former coaching inn dating back to 1642. In the charming, traditionally styled restaurant, you can choose between regional classics and seasonal dishes, some with a Mediterranean twist. Menu highlights include boiled beef brisket with sweet-and-sour fruits, horseradish sauce and potatoes, or French bouillabaisse with toasted bread and rouille sauce. A surprise menu can also be pre-ordered. The lunch options are particularly appealing. Tip: In good weather, make a beeline for the idyllic terrace!

Christians Restaurant
Contemporary, Mediterranean Cuisine
€€€
Run by Sandy and Christian Heß, this is an appealing restaurant – and that goes for the atmosphere as well as the cuisine. The interior is sleek, bright and welcoming, with beautiful arched windows affording a view of the Neckar River. And then there's the terrace overlooking the water – a truly idyllic spot in which to dine in fine weather! The cuisine is contemporary with a Mediterranean touch – opt for a set menu or order à la carte. This lovely space can also be used for private functions.
