This restaurant is located on Böhmischer Platz, which is a lively little square – the bustling energy of the setting makes the pavement terrace a popular spot in summer. The interior has its own allure: understated yet stylish, with a wonderfully vibrant atmosphere. The charming urban setting is in keeping with the modern, streamlined and often pared-back cuisine; crafted from high-quality ingredients, the dishes are bold and punchy. Alongside the signature dish, "potato, lovage, whey", highlights include "halibut, champagne, Périgord truffle" or "morel, scallop, XO". Behind it all is a dedica

Don't be fooled by the unassuming-looking exterior of this Neukölln eatery – a very special take on fine dining awaits you inside. The atmosphere in the dimly lit interior is lively and laid-back. Dine either at the counter, with a view into the kitchen, or at one of the surrounding tables. If you're lucky, you'll be given a sneak peek into how one ingredient or another is prepared in the kitchen. The cooking style is quite unique: René Frank and his team apply patisserie techniques. Particularly refined examples include "buttercream with plum, walnut, and dulse" and "grilled peach with pointe

The rather special location on the Landwehrkanal in lively Kreuzberg, among other restaurants and shops, is a draw in itself. Well shielded from the street, a lovely terrace is laid out front. Inside, the atmosphere is intimate and inviting. The combination of period wood panelling and chic, modern design, along with a striking mural by Jim Avignon, draws as much attention as the glass-fronted kitchen. Sebastian Frank puts vegetables at the heart of his cooking. With remarkable inventiveness, he creates compelling flavour profiles from excellent ingredients, sourced wherever possible from the

There are several reasons why this restaurant run by the partnership of Maximilian Strohe and Ilona Scholl is so sought-after. First, they have created an attractive interior within this lovely old Kreuzberg building – featuring high stuccoed ceilings, wooden floors, art and quirky wallpaper – not to mention the charming terrace set in the heart of the neighbourhood. Then there is the relaxed yet highly professional service under the direction of Ilona Scholl – the team's constant presence and remarkable enthusiasm create a warm and informal atmosphere. At the core of its success, however, is

Hip, international, casual and lively would be a pretty accurate description of this inconspicuous restaurant. A thoroughly and unabashedly trendy concept, from the minimalist urban look and relaxed, pleasingly neighbourly atmosphere to the nicely pared-down modern cuisine that is ideal for sharing, and that goes for the "Sharing" menu or the à la carte options. The tuna with green tomatoes is fantastic, for example, as are the noodles that are rolled in-house – they are always on the menu. Select ingredients, some regional, are par for the course here. Tip: From the seats at the counter you h

Karl-Louis Kömmler, an ambitious chef who also happens to be self-taught, is at work in this small restaurant in Kreuzberg. He has the support of a motivated young team, who clearly enjoy being part of the pared-back modern dining concept here. The food breaks with culinary conventions – based on the classics, it is strongly influenced by Japanese cuisine – and when it comes to the quality of the ingredients, no compromises are made. The menu comprises eight courses, in addition to specials that can be added on as an upgrade. In the veal sweetbread, they have a true signature dish: finely seas

What a charming place! The classic bistro feel of this compact restaurant in Kreuzberg is inviting. Cordial, attentive and professional service also contributes to the pleasantly relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. In the kitchen, chef-patron Yann Mastantuono, who hails from southern France, gives expression to his passion for French bistro cuisine. Be sure to try the charcuterie, eg the "Bauernterrine". The "gambas tartare, citrus fruits and bottarga" or "veal tongue in charcutière sauce, grenaille potatoes in butter" are unfussy and delicious. In summer, head for the secluded terrace.

A cool spot with a buzzy atmosphere, where diners can choose to sit at small tables or at long tables for a convivial group experience. The open kitchen sends out Cantonese dishes such as various dim sum and dumplings. N.B. When they say it's "spicy" here, they mean it! You can dine à la carte or choose from several set menus designed for sharing. The food is accompanied by an extensive selection of wines, spirits, cocktails and long drinks.
