Peter Fridén, of YOSO fame, has brought his "New Nordic Japanese Cuisine" to the 17C Alte Kanzlei, the interior of which has been tastefully designed by Axel Vervoordt. In a small side street adjacent to the boutique hotel PURS, this beautiful building houses a chic restaurant decorated in muted tones. Inside, the eye is drawn to the artwork on the walls and the open kitchen, visible through a glass sliding door, where Fridén brings together three different cuisines. In an invitingly lively and modern setting, diners sit at small wooden tables to savour fresh Italian dishes to an apt musical backdrop. Peter Fridén, who also heads up the kitchen at PURS in Andernach, calls his concept "Asian Comfort Food". Serving up sushi and sashimi, as well as dishes such as shoyu ramen, bao chasu and chicken yakitori, he is dedicated to showcasing Far Eastern flavours. Perfectly suited for sharing, these dishes can also be ordered online to take away. The dining space has a chic urban feel, featuring sleek modern design with a Far Eastern touch.
