A Dornbirn landmark right on the Marktplatz (still the market square), it has been sensitively renovated and restored, and now boasts five really beautiful historical rooms. Dating back to the 13C, this former courthouse – also known as the Schmiedhaus – has retained its original charm both on the outside and in its five dining areas, which feature plenty of old wood and historical details. A cosy atmosphere prevails throughout. Diners are served cuisine in a classical vein that draws on high-quality ingredients. Think variations of scallop – carpaccio au gratin and crispy scallop on a bed of mango and avocado salad. In summer, the garden planted with chestnut trees makes for a romantic setting.
