Both foodies and oenophiles are in for a real treat at Winzerhof Stahl. A passionate winemaker, owner Christian Stahl places the wine from his own vineyard at the heart of the kitchen, as inspiration for the flavour and direction of his cuisine. The dishes on the modern nine-course surprise set menu are perfectly paired with the nine accompanying wines. Sit back and enjoy this fine interplay in a lovely setting: the interior sees a charming blend of minimalist design and features of the original building, such as exposed wooden beams and stone walls. A pleasantly intimate atmosphere reigns in

Lars Zwick has been running this cosy, rustic-style inn in the charming Tauber Valley for many years. The cuisine is regional and seasonal, and the excellent produce is sourced locally as far as possible. Freshly prepared sausages (made in-house) are served on Thursdays and Fridays. Some of the wines – to pair with delicious dishes such as rack of lamb in a herb crust – come from the restaurant's own vineyard. They also produce their own fruit brandies and keep bees. The old barn serves as a function room and wine tastings are held in the vaulted cellar. The pretty guestrooms exude rural charm

Diners walk past the open kitchen into the trendy dining space, where attentive service comes courtesy of a friendly and dedicated front-of-house team. The cuisine is modern and seasonal, with many ingredients sourced from regional producers. Dishes such as ravioli, Parmigiano Reggiano and green olive or guinea fowl, chanterelles and lovage demonstrate a pleasing sense of clarity and coherence with delightful contrasts and perfectly balanced flavours. The small cards providing information about the dishes are a nice idea. Create your own menu by choosing five, seven or nine courses. The staff

What an incredible spot! Guests cross a bridge to reach the lavishly restored Schloss Frankenberg, which enjoys a beautiful elevated location. As well as incorporating a hotel and vineyard, this grand estate is home to Le Frankenberg, whose stylish and elegant interior exudes historical charm. Guided by the theme "French. Franconian. Fine.", the kitchen presents the five- to seven-course set menu "Innovative Klassik by Sascha Bungeroth", with vegetarian and vegan versions available on request with at least two weeks' notice. If you are a fan of fresh and seasonal regional cuisine, the Bogner family's restaurant will be right up your street. This place is cosy and the service comes courtesy of friendly and well-drilled waitstaff managed by the lady of the house. As for the wine, the focus is also on the region. In summer, the leafy courtyard terrace is in great demand. You can also spend the night in one of the well-kept, comfortable guestrooms.

The handsome herrnschlösschen hotel, located in the Old Town, is home to a delightful little restaurant whose stylish modern interior design seamlessly incorporates the building's historical architectural features – note the huge wooden beam dating back to 1526! Following the seasons, the five-course set menu features dishes such as "Norwegian skrei, celeriac, pak choi, sesame" or "Franconian lamb, Jerusalem artichoke, morels, Martini". The charming waitstaff will recommend the perfect wine accompaniment. Fabulous terrace in the baroque garden!
