Emmanuel Renaut fell in love with Haute Savoie as a child, long before achieving his Meilleur Ouvrier de France title, and his predilection for Alpine produce is deeply ingrained (pike, char and whitefish from Lake Geneva, mushrooms and wild herbs, mountain cheeses). At times he has fun subverting the regional cooking that is expected of him – a case in point being his superb langoustines marinated in citron, caviar with zesty grapefruit and gentian roots. In the heart of the village, on the pedestrian street next to the church where a large Christmas tree is erected in winter, this converted chalet is home to an authentic Breton eatery. Yvon Madec oysters are served alongside Breton pancakes – buckwheat galettes and wheat flour crêpes – enhanced with Japanese or Savoyard touches, for instance "Breizh Roll" with Reblochon cheese, or raw milk raclette galette. Locally sourced produce, cheese from a refiner in nearby Manigod and a fine selection of ciders and wines… plus wallet-friendly prices.

In this picturesque Savoie chalet on the heights of Megève, a wood-rich, rustic-chic dining area provides the perfect foil for a modern score that highlights cherry-picked ingredients: black truffle-perfumed cannelloni stuffed with artichoke and foie gras and baked with mature parmesan; fillet of aged beef from Maison Bello, laced with juniper berry, potato gateau, Mondeuse jus and marrow bone.

On the main square in the heart of Megève, next to the church, this former priory was transformed into a restaurant back in 1930. Today, in a cosy alpine setting, Emmanuel Renaut offers his take on the traditional bistro repertoire : mountain cheese tart, ravioli with vegetable consommé, beef tartare, perch from the lake... The establishment also boasts a spacious terrace.

Under the same roof as Vous but upstairs, this light wooden counter serves traditional Japanese fare. All the nigiri, California rolls, sashimi, maki, tempura and gyoza are crafted with top-drawer ingredients, such as wagyu beef or Otoro tuna belly. Bento at lunchtime.

An authentic farmhouse with a pretty rustic - style restaurant, from which you can even see the cows in the cowshed in winter. The chef is passionate about Savoyard produce, and always on the lookout for the best cheeses and cold cooked meats. An eminently pleasant restaurant and very tasty dishes!
