It is 6 miles, or 20 minutes by car. Places to visit include Pendennis Castle, built by King Henry VIII to defend the harbour, the National Maritime Musuem and Falmouth Art Gallery along with many independent shops.  Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens are a 10 minute walk from the hotel and well worth a visit. Both are valley gardens leading down to the river with private beach access.
