Situated halfway up the hill separating the Valdarno and Chianti valleys, the historical hotel dates back to the 14th century. San Giovanni Valdarno train station is 8 km away, with trains to Florence and Arezzo. The establishment is easily reached from the A1 motorway and is ideal for exploring the Chianti wine region. This historical hotel dates back to the 14th century and offers landscaped gardens, luxury accommodation and panoramic views. The 30 rooms are located in a number of historic buildings, forming a large country estate on the former grounds of Barberino Castle. Amenities on offer include a lobby, a restaurant, conference facilities and room service (for a fee). There is a car park for those arriving by car. All rooms are en suite and feature a shower and a hairdryer, as well as a double bed, a direct dial telephone, a TV and free wireless Internet access. Additional amenities include air conditioning and central heating. The rooms include original features such as wood-beamed ceilings and antique furniture. Apartments also feature a kitchen or kitchenette. The historical hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool with poolside snack bar and sun terrace, as well as tennis courts. Il Tributo restaurant is set in the old dining halls of the castle, and serves traditional Tuscan cuisine. During summer, meals are also served outdoors. Guests are served a breakfast buffet each morning and lunch and dinner are offered à la carte.
