The luxurious Gabbia D'oro occupies a magnificent eighteenth-century palazzo situated at the corner of the Verona's main square, Piazza delle Erbe. This city-centre location is perfect for a romantic retreat or for sightseeing, as Juliet's house is 250 metres away and the city's wealth of Roman and medieval monuments are mostly within walking distance, including the medieval Basilica of San Zeno Maggiore and Roman Ponte di Pietra. The hotel is elaborately decorated with dark wooden ceiling beams, medieval-style frescoes, and sumptuous fabrics for an eclectic yet charming look. Rooms are furnished with antique furniture and oriental rugs, each one completely original and unique. The hotel boasts a cosy winter garden known as Orangerie, where guests can sip a cup of coffee or enjoy a light snack, as well as a romantic candlelit terrace surrounded by lush vegetation. This is the ideal place for a lavish and pampered holiday in Verona.
