After almost a decade working at Henne Kirkeby Kro, British-born Paul Proffitt set upon his own in this most idyllic spot on the opposite side of south Jutland; book a space in the glass-cubed ‘Doris’ to watch him up close. A former naval building right on the marina houses The James, a sophisticated hotel that is also home to this chic and elegant restaurant. Fresh and tasty cuisine is served here, and the menu is strongly influenced by the restaurant's own farm. For example, they raise their own Husum red pied pigs, chickens and German Angus cattle – exceptionally tender rump steaks guaranteed.
