Elegant Apartment on Lake Trasimeno

This rustic yet charming restaurant occupies an old family mill. It has attractive guestrooms that reflect the elegant simplicity of the Tuscan countryside. In the kitchen, the female chef creates traditional specialities such as fried rabbit and nettle with ricotta cheese gnudi (ravioli filling without the pasta) in a fresh tomato sauce.

Situated in the historic centre of Passignano, where the village seems to jut out into Lake Trasimeno (some tables in the main dining room boast views of the lake – make sure you book in advance), Il Molo has been run by the Pellegrini family since 1978. The restaurant has become a popular choice for guests keen to try top-quality fish from the lake as well as excellent poultry dishes, with dishes showcased on an à la carte and three tasting menus. We highly recommend the herb bottoni pasta with sunfish and saffron butter. There’s also a good choice of sparkling wines and champagnes.

Enjoy beautiful views of Lake Trasimeno from the outdoor terrace of this restaurant, where the menu focuses mainly on fish, alongside original ingredients such as beans and Umbrian truffles which are used in typical specialities such as tegamaccio (fish stew).

Occupying a restored farmhouse at the foot of Cortona, this restaurant has two different dining areas: a wine bar on the ground floor where you can enjoy excellent aperitifs or buy local food produce, and a restaurant on the first floor that serves a traditional yet constantly evolving menu with a focus on seasonal ingredients. There’s also a beautiful outdoor space for summer dining.
