This villa in Drôme Provençale houses a spacious, simply furnished restaurant. The rotunda section has large bay windows looking onto a terrace, which is a delightful spot in summer. In the kitchen, the chef ensures a smooth transition with modern dishes that honour past traditions. The menu is based on seasonal produce and local ingredients: Ventoux pork, Ardèche bacon, cod au gratin with aioli, flavoursome beef cheek confit with red wine and corn espuma. This beautiful 16C castle stands in extensive grounds surrounded by vineyards. The food aims to enhance the estate’s organic cottage garden and orchard produce. You can wash down your meal with a biodynamic wine from the Domaine de la Guicharde, which also produces the olive oil used in the kitchen. Slick, smiling service. In summer, take a seat in the courtyard adorned with a fountain, overlooking the garden.
