- Zimmerl★ Michelin An interesting concept, of the kind you might expect to find in a big city rather than in the tranquil Waldviertel region. The design is upscale and chic, with nice low lighting and just four tables making for an intimate atmosphere (the name "Zimmerl" is very apt). The set menu comprises 23 small dishes, so you need to allow plenty of time – but the 4hr or so flies by, because the cuisine, peppered with sophisticated contrasts and original ideas, simply makes for a fun experience! - Šupina a ŠupinkaBib The location here is truly amazing, within the grounds of Třeboň’s wonderfully restored castle, which you should definitely explore before or after your meal (there are shops, cafés etc). Or soak up the peace and quiet at the lake as you take in the view. The restaurant specialises in fish – try the carp chips (kapří hranolky) with mushroom and dill sauce, for which they are famous. Some of the fish on the menu come from the lake. The service is attentive and friendly. The dishes are rooted in the region but with a cosmopolitan edge, as demonstrated by creations such as veal fillet, ravioli, wild broccoli, and hamachi, rutabaga, avocado.
