One of the first prominent Mayors of Mariánské Lázně was August Herzig, a holder of the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Franz Joseph I. In the early 19th century, the Emperor had a single-storey villa built in the “Good Old England“ style. Now the villa serves as a small hotel with a gourmet restaurant. As the name implies, the Gourmet Hotel is exceptional for its gastronomy. It is very popular among guests who opt for “CulinaryTourism” So in short – it is suitable for lovers of quality food and drink.

At this red-brick former vodka distillery, you have the chance to dine amongst the old steam generator and the hoppers which once held fermenting potatoes. It’s a hugely characterful setting which forms part of a wider country estate and sets the scene nicely for seasonal cooking with some vibrant modern touches. The bread served with homemade flavoured oils is a highlight. To drink, the wine list is entirely made up of options from their own estate.
