Situated within the grand Park Hotel Kenmare and overlooking Kenmare Bay, this elegant dining room comes with the added bonus of being decorated with original paintings by Irish artist Sean Scully – the restaurant is even named after one of his works. The kitchen showcases a bounty of prime Irish produce, from scallops and sole to venison and Irish farmhouse cheese – all embellished with precise, well-judged accompaniments. Oenophiles will appreciate the strong choice of classic vintages.

Having been a presence in Kenmare since 1995, this smart, warm restaurant has become a part of the town’s fabric, with plenty of the locals contributing to its lively atmosphere. Come for cocktails and snacks in the bar or settle in for the evening to enjoy a menu underpinned by local beef and seafood. The hearty dishes pack in plenty of flavour and are classic at heart, as evidenced by a terrific deconstructed version of a fish pie that shows off all the expected flavours via premium-quality seafood.
