- Rios O Freixo A family-run restaurant with a superb location overlooking the port, where the quality of ingredients is always to the fore, especially in terms of its shellfish (oysters of different sizes, clams, cockles etc) and superb fresh fish, meat and rice dishes (the rice with sea urchins and Cambados scallops is a delight). For the best views, make sure you book a table by the picture windows.4.8km
- Nordestada A unique dining option, occupying the former fish auction house in Portosín. Here, full homage is paid to the building’s history, with fish (grilled dishes are the only option) taking centre stage, although seafood and some meats are also available. The restaurant takes its name from the northeasterly wind (“nordés”) that is a frequent occurrence in the fishing waters of the Rías Baixas.5.9km
- Asador O'Pazo★ Michelin If you’re unfamiliar with O’Pazo, one of Galicia’s most renowned restaurants for grilled cuisine, you’re long overdue a visit to dine in this unique space created by the Vidal brothers (with Óscar in the kitchen and Manuel in the dining room), where everything revolves around the wood-fired grill. This charming property located next to the main road boasts an elegant interior design featuring an abundance of dark wood, providing the backdrop for traditionally based cuisine that is mainly served as part of the Rescaldo tasting menu. Despite the apparently simple grilled approach to cooking, the19.6km
- O Secadeiro Once in a while you come across a truly pleasant surprise in a rural setting run by chefs who have returned to their roots with the sole aim of showcasing what they have learnt elsewhere. This is definitely the case with couple Fernando and Eva, two cooks (although she is also in charge of the dining room service) who have restored her grandmother’s house and created their own vegetable garden (which also includes a greenhouse). Their contemporary cuisine has plenty of personality and is centred around a single seasonal vegetarian menu. We loved the roasted aubergines with miso!11.2km
- Casa Barqueiro A family-owned restaurant that is particularly popular in the region. It features a busy wine bar, with a few tables for tapas, an impeccably laid out dining room adorned with a beautiful mural of the bucolic Maceira bridge (just a few kilometres away and a must for a visit), as well as a spectacular glass-fronted wine cellar. In the kitchen, the focus is on honest and traditional Galician cuisine which stands out for its use of local ingredients and the quality of its meats. Whatever you do, don’t miss the magnificent stone-cooked T-bone steak or the homemade desserts, including the creamy ch18.5km
- Brandal At this restaurant, nestled inside the Hotel Scala although with its own entrance, they like to say that here you can go ‘to enjoy the best flavours of Galicia at your leisure’. In its bright dining room, with a minimalist atmosphere, you can sample cuisine based on Galician recipes, with contemporary starters with a traditional taste (we were blown away by the bluefin tuna belly sandwich), select meats, good seafood and large fish of the day. Their grilled dishes are particularly noteworthy!19.6km
