• Terra★ Michelin Part of the region near La Coruña known as the Coast of Death, Fisterra has reinvigorated its culinary options thanks to this restaurant occupying a former bar overlooking Da Ribeira beach. Having trained in award-winning restaurants such as Casa Marcial (La Salgar, in the Asturias region) and Mina (Bilbao), young chef Brais Pichel has returned home to take his turn at the helm of the family business, transforming it into a contemporary space with a highly consistent culinary approach in the kitchen. • Landua Occupying an old stone house in the heart of the countryside and equipped with its own greenhouse-vegetable garden, Landua is run with great enthusiasm by a young couple. In the beautiful dining room, which has been converted from what was once the stable, you will be offered a unique surprise menu with simple yet well-balanced and elegant dishes. Although they use ingredients from the nearby coast and meadows, the vegetables take centre stage. The access road is very attractive, as it partly runs alongside the Santa Uxia reservoir!3.0km
• Tira do Cordel A restaurant occupying a century-old property that was once a salting factory, with a superb location right by one of the area’s most charming beaches. Although simply prepared and presented, the cuisine is centred around the superb ingredients found along the Costa da Morte, with those cooked on the grill particularly popular.10.9km
• Ó Fragón A unique restaurant with a modern feel in the upper part of town, hence its impressive views of the port, estuary and Langosteira beach. Ó Fragón’s up-to-date cuisine is inspired by availability in the market and at the fish auction and is presented on an à la carte (with dishes designed for sharing) and through a tasting menu (10 courses), with almost the entire proposal revolving around fish, seafood and organic vegetables. Aside from the desserts, an interesting footnote is the excellent choice of artisanal Galician cheeses, served with delicious homemade bread.11.8km
• Rios O Freixo A family-run restaurant with a superb location overlooking the port, where the quality of ingredients is always to the fore, especially in terms of its shellfish (oysters of different sizes, clams, cockles etc) and superb fresh fish, meat and rice dishes (the rice with sea urchins and Cambados scallops is a delight). For the best views, make sure you book a table by the picture windows.18.9km
• O Secadeiro Once in a while you come across a truly pleasant surprise in a rural setting run by chefs who have returned to their roots with the sole aim of showcasing what they have learnt elsewhere. This is definitely the case with couple Fernando and Eva, two cooks (although she is also in charge of the dining room service) who have restored her grandmother’s house and created their own vegetable garden (which also includes a greenhouse). Their contemporary cuisine has plenty of personality and is centred around a single seasonal vegetarian menu. We loved the roasted aubergines with miso!19.4km
