The Black Lion Royal Hotel

Nestled in the heart of a rural village, this whitewashed former drover's inn dates back all the way to the 17th century. The space is split into several rustic, characterful bar rooms and a more modern restaurant, with the same menus served throughout. The cooking leans towards the traditional, offering classic pub dishes such as fish & chips, confit duck leg or Welsh beef burger. If the warm chocolate mousse with pistachio ice cream is available for dessert, you must try it. Bedrooms are available and, unlike your usual village local, there’s an elephant buried in the garden!
