On the banks of the Rhine, this restaurant is tucked away behind a somewhat unprepossessing exterior directly above the angling club. The cuisine, based on excellent ingredients and with fish as the centrepiece, is a master class in finesse. Even after moving to the centre of Konstanz, Patrick Stier has remained true to his style. He serves up classic cuisine with Mediterranean influences – think sea bass grenobloise with artichokes and a saffron emulsion or saddle of venison with a sour cherry game jus, warm pointed cabbage salad, port wine cherries, macadamia nuts and Topfenknödel (curd dumplings). Diners can choose between the "Gourmet" and "Vegetarian Gourmet" set menus and à la carte dishes.

This is MICHELIN-starred chef Tim Raue's take on a French brasserie. The restaurant mirrors the Colette brasseries in Berlin and Munich with an interesting modern dining concept: Diners can order à la carte or compose their own four-course set menu, which can also be vegan. Classics such as beef Wellington (served for two) are available too, as are seasonal dishes. The highlight here is the first-floor terrace overlooking the pedestrian area – but seating is limited, so you'd be well advised to book!
