It was 1961 when Lidia and Guido Alciati opened their restaurant, giving life to a revolution that would forever change the face of Italian gastronomy. With dedication and sacrifice, they marked an epochal turning point: they were among the first to understand the value of the territory, passionately seeking out small niches of gastronomic excellence. Lidia, at the stove, enhanced these products with cooking that was immediate and respectful of the raw materials, while Guido oversaw exceptional service and an extraordinary cellar. Today their legacy lives on and is renewed in the sumptuous hal

With a convenient reserved parking space and an expansive terrace overlooking the Langhe panorama, the 1920s-built house greets guests with stylistic minimalism but gastronomic enthusiasm in its sincere regional cuisine proposal. The minimum selection à la carte comprises two courses excluding desserts.

To get to this welcoming restaurant, it’s best to leave the car in one of the convenient car parks just outside the town walls a short walk from Cherasco’s quiet, picturesque historic centre with its two perpendicular streets. At Osteria La Torre, the friendly female staff will happily guide you through the menu, which features traditional dishes prepared in contemporary style – we particularly enjoyed the egg, cardoon and fondue dish, followed by breaded veal rump as our main course. If you’re a fan of snails, you really must try them here as Cherasco is renowned for this speciality. The exte

This building, almost cube-like in shape with large floor-to-ceiling windows that offer breathtaking views of the beautiful surrounding countryside, is striking for its modern, contemporary design, with a delightful outdoor space that is perfect for alfresco dining. Originally from Puglia, talented owner-chef Carmela Straniero fell in love with the Langhe having spent time working in England and Italy. Her refined and highly personalised cuisine fully respects culinary traditions and is prepared using top-quality local ingredients.

Access is via the inner courtyard of an elegant period building, where, on sunny days, the outdoor tables buzz with conversation and delicious smells. Upstairs, there is a large, bright dining room flanked by two cosy side rooms that are perfect for conversing. In the main room, a climate-controlled wooden display case catches the eye: inside are precious bottles, from the intense reds of Langa and Roero to wines that tell stories from every corner of the world. The menu is a journey through the flavours of Piedmont: dishes that exude tradition, such as “Gobbi di Nizza Monferrato” (cardoons dr

Situated in the historic centre but near a square with a car park, this modern inn serves Piedmontese cuisine which is contemporary in style yet still firmly anchored in local traditions. The generously portioned, well-presented dishes on the menu include vitello tonnato (excellent – we tried it!), tajarin pasta, Bra sausage and casseroles (the soft suckling pig cheek was delicious), all of which are as much a feast for the eyes as for the palate. The restaurant is run by an enthusiastic couple, aided by proficient and courteous staff with a feminine touch.

A new chapter for the Camia family, historic interpreters of haute cuisine in the Langhe. Chef Massimo, together with his daughter Elisabetta, starts anew in a refined location among vineyards and hills, where a renovated rustic building becomes inn and restaurant. Here, Langhe tradition dresses in contemporary elegance; dishes that tell the story of the territory with character, such as risotto with local snails and Roero asparagus, while in the dining room his sommelier son will know how to recommend the right pairing from an almost encyclopedic choice of wines available in the cellar.
